Get Your Read On--9th Reading

Syllabus Update the Last

A proper education enables young people to put their lives in order, which means knowing what things are more important than other things; it means putting first things first.

Weeks Seventeen and Eighteen (sort of) (1.4-1.15):

Monday:

Return of the Article of the Week. Our final article is about reading itself, and it will serve as a practice for our final exam, which will essentially be the article of the week process compressed into one finals period (and completed on your own).

As always, the annotations will be collected on Thursday, and your response needs to be posted in the forum by class time that day.

Tuesday:

Continue annotating and working on Article of the Week responses.

Wednesday:

Goal check. We have a full Wednesday, so we will have some time to be discuss what we've been reading.

Thursday:

Collect annotations. Make sure your response is posted in the forum by class time. Reading time and/or beginning our final set of vocabulary, which is due by the end of class Friday.

Friday:

Final set of vocabulary due by the end of class. You should have nine new words--today is a good day to check on this. Quizzes will begin on Monday of next week.

Monday:

Final vocabulary quiz begins. Once again, we will begin with volunteers, and I will ask you about five of your nine words. Reading time for those not quizzing.

Tuesday:

Final vocabulary quiz continues. Reading time for those not quizzing.

Wednesday:

Final goal check of the semester. Go to Google Classroom.

Thursday:

We will discuss the final again, collect any books that haven't been turned in, and take some time for final shelfies.

I will post finals schedules on our Google Classroom.

You are more than welcome to continue to make use of our classroom library next semester.
