Lack of Social Media

Lack of Social Media

I have noticed that lately I haven’t really had time for social media. I check it every once in awhile, but I haven’t really taken the time to go through them. I think this is part of my schedule and how busy I've been. I can honestly say that I don’t mind having some time away from social media, but I also feel like I am not really up to date on things.

Am I the only one who has gone awhile with rarely checking social media, or do you guys have these times too?

I don’t think that it is a bad thing, and with talking about the effects of media, I think that it’s been kind of nice to spend my time doing other things. If you were to choose to spend less time, I would highly recommend it. I think that it has benefited me to the point that my attention has been on more important things, and I think it would be good for anyone who needs to focus on things other than their phones.

  • I think that during certain times of the year, I don't go on social media nearly as much. For example, in the summer, I spend tons of time on my phone and laptop watching Netflix and on social media. Now, since I am in school, I don't go on as much because the activities I am involved in, work and homework. Even with homework, I get sidetracked -- due to my phone or tv. I agree, I don't think it's a bad thing. I think it's actually a positive thing because you are more focused on what's important.
  • Your experience is not unusual. Many people who take a social media break, whether by design or by default, report positives about the experience. Yet few of us are willing to not go back.
