On Facebook I came across a video from "Daily Mail" about the "Map Up" campaign. The campaign is posting videos of men's real emotions. It is encouraging men to express what they feel, not to keep them bottled inside. The video I watched was just a short clip of men crying and an over-voice in the background stating how our society portray men. "Boys should stop crying." "Boys need to grow a pair." And the video mentioned male suicide and how our world should prevent it from happening. Which I mean, regardless of gender, we should try to prevent all suicides. But the "Man Up" campaign is trying to raise awareness to all the lives that have been taken due to how men are supposed to act. Mental health is by far one of the biggest problems in our society. It's unfair that men are shamed for being sensitive or even the slightest bit feminine. It is socially unacceptable for men to be themselves. Why can't men be both, confident and emotional? Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with men showing their feelings.
